Cans for Haiti

Jane Ryan Cub Scouts are sponsoring a recyclables drive on Saturday, January 30 from 10 am - 12 pm in Jane Ryan's Parking Lot (101 Park Lane) to raise money for the earthquake victims. All monies raised will be donated to the American Red Cross and donations will be accepted. Checks should be made out to Pack 64.

New Belt Loops and Pins

In January, 13 new belt loops and pins were introduced - the first additions in 10 years. They are:
Academics Belt Loops and Pins:
Disabilities Awareness, Family Travel, Good Manners, Nutrition, Pet Care, Photography, Writing and Video Games
Sports Belt Loops and Pins:
Hiking, Hockey, Horseback Riding, Kickball and Skateboarding

Homework for Feb. 1 Meeting

Your scout much complete Achievement 8g on page 78 and Achievement 11, requirements A-E and requirement G. (pages 96-105) before the Feb. 1 meeting.

NOTE: We are scheudled to hold our Monday, February 1 meetings as a field trip to Porricelli's Food Market here in Trumbull. Our Scouts will have a guided tour of the market. We will leave Jane Ryan by car immediately following dismissal and we will bring the Scouts back to teh school for regular pick-up time.

We could use the help of two parent drivers. Please let us know if you and your Scout can attend.

Bakers Needed! Bears will provide dessert for all who attend the Pinewood Derby. We'll have a sign-up sheet at the February pack meeting.

Homework for Nov. 9 Meeting

The boys should finish 1B (page 28), do Achievement 4a (page 43) and 4c (page 49) – more details are on the blog (http://www.blogspot.com – password is cubscout5). If they finish, and want to move ahead, they can do Achievement 5 – sharing your world with wildlife – it’s easy to do. Remember – we’re covering most, but not all achievements at our den meetings.
